The 27-inch Late 2012 iMac was a radical redesign of Apple's all-in-one flagship: by removing the optical drive and fusing the display directly to the glass, Apple slimmed the case down to a razor-thin 5 mm edge — its thinnest desktop yet. Powered by a 2.9 GHz quad-core Ivy Bridge Core i5 with 8 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, it offered a 2560×1440 IPS display, four USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt ports.
