ROM 03 was the third and final firmware revision of the Apple IIGS, introduced in August 1989. It shipped with a rewritten ROM, a faster boot time, improved system software support, and 1.125 MB of RAM built directly onto the motherboard as standard. ROM 3 machines also required System Software 5 or later.
