Background

The Macintosh Plus fixed the original Mac's greatest weakness — expandability. It was the first Mac with a SCSI port (for external hard drives and peripherals), four SIMM RAM slots, and an 800 KB double-density floppy drive. It stayed on sale for over four years, an eternity in the fast-moving personal computer market.
