Power Macintosh 7100/66
A mid-range Power Mac based on the 6100 architecture, offering fast PowerPC performance in a friendly pizza-box case.
In 1994 a 7100 was famously 'upgraded' with a 68040 card to run both Mac OS and A/UX.1994 年曾有一部 7100 以加裝 68040 擴充卡的方式聞名於世，可同時執行 Mac OS 與 A/UX。
The Power Macintosh 7100/66 (March 1994) was the mid-range model of Apple's first PowerPC desktop family, sitting between the 6100 and the 8100. It used the same 'pizza box' desktop case as the Centris/Quadra 610. Internally the 7100 was codenamed 'Carl Sagan' — after the astronomer threatened legal action, Apple briefly renamed it 'BHA' ('Butt-Head Astronomer'). The 66 MHz PowerPC 601 chip brought a major speed boost over the 68040 machines it replaced, while still running 68k software via emulation.
