The Mac Pro (Early 2009) was the first Mac Pro built on Intel's 'Nehalem' microarchitecture, replacing the earlier Harpertown-based models. It introduced an integrated memory controller, DDR3 ECC memory, and a redesigned interior with four cable-free hard-drive bays. The quad-core 2.66 GHz model (Xeon W3520) was the entry point to the range.
