The iPhone 3GS, announced at WWDC 2009, delivered roughly double the performance of its predecessor, the iPhone 3G, thanks to a faster 600 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM — twice the memory of before. It was also the first iPhone capable of recording video, and its upgraded 3-megapixel camera added autofocus, tap-to-focus and white balance control.
